L’îlot-Vignes is also the starting point to explore Aquitaine ; a region rich in cultural and geographical diversity.

If you need to see the sea side, the Arcachon basin is 1 hour and a few minutes away from l’îlot-VignesThe Arcachon Basin is as we used to say a small inland sea open on the Atlantic Ocean, backed by pine forest. Broad triangular cutout fringed villages, punctuated by a constant movement back and forth to the rhythm of the tides, the Arcachon basin is a unique site that we always discover again for the first time. Three sites are essential at the Arcachon basin :

  • La Dune du Pilat, located in the heart of the Landes forest of Gascogne in the Arcachon basin, is the highest dune in Europe (altitude higher than 110 m)
  • Le Ban d’Arguin, is a nature reserve where hundreds of terns are nesting Facing The Atlantic, feeling of immensity…a travel to infinity will be felt as a small stop on this wonderful site.

  • L’Ile aux Oiseaux, everywhere, we see two houses on stilts built over the water. Behind the Ile aux Oiseaux, canals, called here "esteys" and trails covered Salicorne. A true small island in the middle of the basin, a refuge between land and water, which owes its name to many sea birds come here to rest and feed.
